Edward G. Hines

Hines, Edward G. of South Weymouth, passed away March 21, 2018.

Edward was born in Boston to the late Edward and Francesca Hines.  Edward was a Civil Engineer for the MDC and worked many projects focused on historical restoration and archeologic survey. He was a member of the Weymouth Historical Society and served 20 years in the Army National Guard, during which he played trombone in the Guard band.  Edward enjoyed many years of retirement in Meredith, NH, at his summer home. He volunteered at the Meredith Historical Society’s agricultural museum.

Beloved husband of Evelyn G. (Burke) Hines of South Weymouth. Loving father of Michael Hines and Cheryl of Wellesley, Cheryl Dewey and Dana of Rockland, Mary Lutz of Braintree, Jean Queenan and Jim of Litchfield, NH, Chris Hines and Sharon of Sandwich, Theresa Orsinger and Dennis of Easton, Patti Paola and Joe of N. Attleboro, and Jim Hines and Kara of Bridgewater. Dear brother of Joanne Talbot and Richard of Portland, ME. Also survived by 22 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
