Edward G. Gill, Jr.

Mr. Edward G. Gill, Jr. of Weymouth, passed away on April 15, 2017 at the age of 83. 

Ed was a proud Korean War veteran, serving with the United States Army. For many years he worked in the shipbuilding industry as a supervisor and project manager for Bethlehem Steel, General Dynamics, and the East Boston Shipyard. He was very involved with the Weymouth Little League.

He was the beloved husband of the late Carolyn B. (Bruce) Gill. Loving father of  Stephen J. Gill and his wife Veronica of North Weymouth, Robert Gill of Mansfield, Laurie Drew and her husband Barry of North Weymouth, Michael Gill and his wife Tonia of Foxboro, Lisa Gill and her fiance Raymond Shaw of Weymouth, and the late John J. “Jackie” Gill and his wife Nancy Gill of Derry, NH. Brother of the late William Gill. Grandfather of the late John E. Gill. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10:45 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 11:30 AM. Burial in Lakeside Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, c/o, Carol’s Team, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
