Pike, Edward F. “Sonny” of Weymouth, died October 23, 2013.
Edward graduated from Boston Trade School in 1943 before joining the service. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. Edward was a lifetime member of the American legion. He was a volunteer for various organizations including the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Weymouth Food Pantry, MA Hospital School, and many more. Edward was a lector at St. Albert the Great Church in Weymouth. He enjoyed traveling, he spent winters in Florida and summers in Cape Cod. He will be sadly missed.
Pre deceased by the love of his life Beverly L. (McKean) Pike. Beloved father of Robert E. Pike and his wife Cathy of Braintree, Kenneth R. Pike and his wife Linda of Pembroke and the late Edward J “Ed” Pike. Caring brother of the late Gertrude Harrington and brother-in-law to Carol Melanson of Weymouth. Loving grandfather of Hilary J. Pike of Halifax and Timothy J. Pike of Seoul, South Korea. Great grandfather of Shane E. Pike of Halifax. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward’s memory may be made to a scholarship fund established eleven years ago in his son’s memory to the Edward Pike Memorial Fund, c/o Weymouth Bank, 744 Broad Street, E. Weymouth MA 02189.
