Baccari, Edward E. of Quincy, May 17, 2008. Beloved husband of 54 years to Lorraine C. (Karam) Baccari of Quincy. Loving father of Anne M. Baccari of PA and Linda Burns and her husband Kevin of Norwell. Cherished Papa to Christina and William Burns of Norwell. Brother of Rita Cuneo and her husband Lester of Braintree, Elba DelGrosso and her husband Horace of Scituate and the late Domenic Baccari and his wife the late Yolanda. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Baccari loved his family and worked very hard to provide for them. He especially enjoyed his two grandchildren. Mr. Baccari served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from July of 1946 to July of 1948. Ed worked a total of 38 years for the City of Quincy. He began as a teacher and retired as principal of Atherton Hough Elementary School. He worked summers and weekends for the Quincy Recreation Department. Edward had a house in NH for 37 years and loved to fish, water ski and sail. He took up painting in the years after retirement. Edward was a 1946 graduate of Quincy High School. He obtained his Bachelor and Master degrees from Boston University. He will be remembered as a hard-working perfectionist who enjoyed helping others. He was a life member of both the National Education Association and the MA Teacher’s Association. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Thursday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Agatha’s Church, Milton at 10:30 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Burial in Mount Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury. Donations in memory of Mr. Baccari may be made to the Edward E. Baccari Scholarship Fund, c/o Quincy Education Association , 590 Hancock St., Quincy MA 02170.
