Edward C. Herman

Herman, Edward C. of Apopka, FL, formerly of Quincy, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in the state of Florida where he had lived for the past eleven years. He was 39 years old. In his new home state he created and operated a successful small business, Fast Ed’s Landscape and Design Company. Born in Boston, MA he was raised in Quincy where he attended the Montclair Elementary School, St. Ann’s School and graduated from Archbishop Williams High School where he played football, basketball, and ran track. Despite having relocated to Florida Eddie remained a strong supporter of Boston area sports teams that included a 2004 trip to St. Louis with his brother Bob to witness the Red Sox win their first World Series in 86 years. In his lifetime Ed attended numerous title events across the country in the sport of boxing and was also an avid golfer. Loving husband of Carolyn (Gosch) Herman and devoted father to his two sons Eddie Jacob and Joseph. Beloved son of Beverly F. Herman and the late Edward R. Herman. Cherished brother of Robert M. Herman and his wife Alisa of Quincy, Michael G. Herman and his wife Kimberly of Pittsfield, Christine M. Herman and Eric Sindlinger of Taunton. Son-in-law to Ann L. Dwyer and dear brother-in-law to Bill and Christy Gosch all of Florida. Also lovingly survived by his nephew and godchild Ethan and his five nieces Marissa, Janelle, Olivia, Sophie, and Annie as well as a host of dear friends both in the Orlando and Boston areas. Eddie lived life to the fullest and made his dreams a reality through hard work and perseverance. Our hearts are sore over the loss of a loyal husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Monday 2-4 & 7-9 in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 9:15AM prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in Ed’s memory may be made to the Eddie Jacob and Joseph Herman Scholarship Fund, c/o Carolyn Gosch-Herman, Bank of America, 33 East Main St., Apopka, FL 32703
