Edna Mary (Feeney) Quigg

Edna Mary (Feeney) Quigg, of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Friday, April 18, 2025. She was 88.

Edna was born in Boston on January 4, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mary E. (Curran) Feeney. She was raised in South Boston, attended local schools and graduated from the Nazareth School.

A woman of great faith, Edna’s life was centered around her deep devotion to Our Lady and her steadfast trust in the Lord Jesus. She prayed the Rosary daily and never missed a Sunday Mass. During Lent, she faithfully attended Mass each day, living out her beliefs with quiet humility and profound dedication. Her faith was not just a part of her life—it was the foundation of who she was.

Edna had a presence that made people feel at ease. She never pressured anyone, always went with the flow, and carried a calm, comforting spirit that welcomed all. Though she cherished the peace of home, she was always ready to say “yes” to a new adventure or travel with loved ones—her openness and quiet joy were gifts to those around her.

In her spare time, Edna found joy in the simple act of creating—knitting and crocheting beautiful afghan blankets that wrapped her family in the love she so freely gave. Her hands were rarely still, always working with care and purpose, crafting pieces of comfort that will be cherished for generations.

Edna will be remembered for her honesty, her patience, her boundless kindness, and above all, her love. Family was everything to her, and she gave her heart completely to those she held dear. Her life was a testament to what it means to live with faith, grace, and love.

Edna was truly special—she was a woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love, leaving behind a legacy of gentleness, devotion, and warmth that touched everyone blessed to know her.

Edna was the devoted mother of Patricia M. Malfy and late husband Lawrence of Weymouth, John J. "Jack" Quigg and his wife Kristen "KB" of Quincy, Michael F. Quigg and his wife Mary of Braintree, and Maureen A. Twohig and her husband David of Arlington. She was the loving grandmother of ten and the loving great grandmother of nine. She was preceded in death by her four cherished sisters and her two cherished brothers. Edna is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
