Edmund K. ” Ned” Nock

Nock, Edmund ‘Ned’ K. of Hingham, passed away August 12, 2011. Beloved husband of 66 years to Helen B. (Boos) Nock of Hingham. Loving father of Herbert T. Nock and his wife, Marcia, of Ridgefield, CT, and Philip Nock and Pat of Grafton and Framingham. Cherished grandfather to Kim, Ken, Brad, and Taylor. Great-Grandfather to Emma. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ned was born in Newburyport, and lived in Falmouth for twenty years before moving to Hingham, five years ago. Until his retirement, Ned was a marketing executive for General Electric in a career thant spanned from 1948-1985. He was a graduate of Schenectady New York High School, attended Williston Academy in Easthampton, and was a 1948 graduate of the University of Maine. He had a great passion for sailing, and was a member of the Corinthian Yacht Club in Marblehead where he served as flet captain for seven years. Ned also enjoyed biking, skiing, tennis, and the companionship of his many freinds. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday August 27, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Linden Ponds, 303 Linden Ponds Way, Hingham.
