Coletta, Edmund J., Sr. of Quincy May 26, 2006. Beloved husband of Helen (Roberts) Coletta for 50 years of Quincy. Devoted father of Edmund J. Coletta, Jr. and his wife Nanina of E. Boston, James A. Coletta and his wife Cheryl of Abington, Teresa M. and her husband Douglas Rand of Quincy, Det. Nancy J. Coletta, QPD of Quincy, and Richard F. Coletta and his fiancee Molly of Quincy. Loving brother of Lawrence Coletta of Norwood, Alfred Coletta of Quincy, Gerard Coletta, Jr. of Plymouth, Paul Coletta of Braintree, and the late Robert Coletta. Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Courtney, Angela, Danielle, Nicole, James, Jr., Allen, and Gabriela. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Thursday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Mary’s Church, Quincy at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 2- 4 & 7- 9 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Edmund J. Coletta, Sr. may be made to Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Baystate Drive, Braintree, MA 02184. Eddie graduated from North Quincy High in 1950 and from Quincy Trade in 1953 in Cabinet Making. He was a Navy Veteran. Eddie was a member of the American Legion Morrissette Post and the Sons of Italy in Quincy. A former member of the Knights of Columbus in No. Quincy and a past Director of the MA Gasoline Retail Dealers Association. Eddie was an avid runner and bowler. He loved to garden, play tennis, softball, horseshoes, and bocce. He also loved the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots.
