Cotter, Edmund J. of Quincy passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband of Kathryn Cotter for 75 wonderful years. Loving father of Kathleen Horigan and her late husband Thomas of Scituate, Maureen Zeoli and her late husband Raymond of Bridgewater, Kevin Cotter and his fiancé Colleen Burgess of Cohasset.

Proud son of Thomas and Catherine Cotter. Cherished brother of the late Margaret O’Neill, Lillian McKenna, Thomas Cotter and Robert Cotter and brother in law of Patricia Forsberg and her late husband Roy.

Devoted “Puppy” of Patrick Horigan, Brendan Horigan and his wife Nicole, Jennifer Columbus and her husband Michael, Jaclyn Pedro and her husband Conor, Courtney Beach and her husband Brian, Caitlin Haskins and her husband Nicholas, Colleen Allen and her husband Jonathan.

Adoring Great Grandfather “Puppy” to Kylie, Ryan, Maeve, Dylan, Andrew, Brody, Bailey, Lucy, and Haley.

Also survived by dear friends Patricia and James Kilroy and by many nieces and nephews.

Ed enjoyed an over 50 year career with the Associated Press as a wire photo technician and photographer, and many of his colleagues became lifelong friends. In retirement, he cherished spending time with family most and was a known face at hockey rinks and ball fields across the area. Ed will be remembered for his work ethic, warm smile, and the genuine joy he got out of the little things in life.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Thursday 2/6/2025 from 2-6 PM at the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St Quincy. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home 9:30 at AM on Friday 2/7/25 prior to the funeral mass in St. Agatha Church, Milton at 10:30 AM. Burial Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
