Collins, Edith R. (Reynolds) of Quincy, May 13, 2003. Loving wife of the late George H. Collins, Jr. Beloved mother of Michael O. Collins of Quincy, Maria C. Broderick of Kingston, NH, and Leslie A. MacNeil of Malibu, CA. Sister of Lowell Reynolds of Valliant, OK, and Harold Reynolds of St. Mary’s City, MD. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home. 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Saturday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Friday 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. At Quincy City Hospital, Edith worked as the head nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. After Quincy City Hospital, Edith worked at Quincy Health Center in Quincy Square from 1971 – 1981. She served in the Army during WWII as a nurse in New Guinea for three years. She wasdischarged honorably as a Lieutenant. She was raised in Valliant, Oklahoma and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma. She was a Member of the Mass. Orchid Society and she grew orchids at home.
