Gallagher, Edith L. (Williams) of Quincy, died March 16, 2014.
Edith’s life revolved around her loving family. She was involved in all her children and grandchildren’s activities. She served her country during WWII in the U.S. Navy and was a very patriotic woman and was fortunate to see her name engraved on the WWII Memorial in Washington D.C. A social woman, Edith participated in many of the senior groups at St. Mary’s Church, St. John’s Church and the Hancock House in Quincy. She enjoyed swimming, bingo and loved her outings to Nantasket Beach. She was a beautiful lady, an impeccable dresser, and will be remembered for her kind and gentle manner.
Beloved wife of the late Robert J. Gallagher. Loving mother of Carol Franke and her husband Donald of ME, Patricia Sullivan and her husband Brian of Quincy, Lynn Flood and her husband Robert of Hanover, Janice Gullicksen of Quincy, and Robert J. Gallagher and his wife Sharon of Quincy. Sister of the late Barbara Nelson. Cherished Nana to 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Edith may be made to Disabled American Veterans, State House, Room 546, Boston, MA 02133.
