Edith J. Callahan

Callahan, Edith J. (Santangelo) of Plymouth, died May 6, 2015.

Edith was born and raised in Boston and lived in South Weymouth for 47 years before moving to Plymouth. Edith was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and worked for the telephone company for 20 years before retiring in 1989. She was very artistic with skills in sewing, quilting, and painting. She had a love for bingo and will be remembered for her wonderful cooking. She will be dearly missed. 

Beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Callahan. Devoted mother of Joseph J. Callahan of Abington, Ellen C. Smith and her husband Randall of Whitman, Joan Callahan of CA, Michael G. Callahan and his wife Josephine of Franklin and Diane G. Callahan of Plymouth. Cherished “Nana” of 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Loving sister of the late Grace Hardy, Constance Santangelo and Nicholas Santangelo. Aunt of Nancy Buckley of Sandwich, Susan Turner of Plymouth and Doris Dow of Marshfield.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
