Edith E. Tardiff

Tardiff, Edith E. (Rowell) of Weymouth, died September 24, 2015.

Beloved wife of 67 years to Donald M.Tardiff, MD of Weymouth.  Loving mother of Richard Tardiff  and his wife Joy Tardiff, MD of Braintree.  Dear sister of Walter “Red” Rowell,Jr. of  Alaska and the late Robert Lee Rowell, Chester Otis Rowell and  Norma Gremila. Cherished grandmother of Katherine and Daniel Tardiff both of Braintree.

Edith was a graduate of Weymouth High School, Class of 1940 and of Bridgewater Teacher’s College, Class of 1944.  She was one of the original teachers at the Central Jr. High School in Weymouth.  Edith educated many students in Weymouth, Brookline, Detroit and Portland, Oregon. In 1958, she retired from teaching and continued working as the office manager for her husband’s pediatrics office in Weymouth. She was a member of the Weymouth Catholic Club, President of the Tufts Medical Faculty Wives, Past President of the Auxillary Norfolk South Medical Society, longtime member of the Quincy Neighborhood Club and past member of the Marshfield Country Club.

At the request of the family, all services were private.
