Edith Carlozzi

Edith Carlozzi , “Edie” (Cellucci) of Weymouth, formerly of Braintree, age 92, died peacefully after a long illness on April 26,  2015. 

She was the daughter of the late Cesidia & Loretto Cellucci.  Educated in Quincy, Edith worked in the insurance industry and was employed by the Jordan Marsh Co. in Braintree until she retired.  She was the loving and dedicated wife of the late Dominick Carlozzi of Braintree for 69 years.  She was the loving mother of Michael Carlozzi and his wife, Joan, of Boston and Paul Carlozzi and his wife, Laura, of Waltham and the late Gerard Carlozzi and the late Janet Branch.  She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Kathy Carlozzi, of Downing Town, PA.   Loving grandmother of eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Devoted sister of the late Mary Cellucci. Edie is survived by family members, Anthony Carlozzi of Quincy, Isabel Pelletier of Halifax , Rita Cugini of Brighton and by many nieces and nephews.

Edie was a wonderful Italian mother and Nona to her grandchildren.  She was a big crossword puzzle fan, Pokeno player, and played an excellent game of cribbage. Edie made many Italian specialties and was known for her gourmet cooking skills.  Christmas Eve had her trademark “feast of fish” along with her homemade lasagna and tortellini. Edie will be sadly missed by all that were blessed to have had her in their lives. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday 3-7PM, with a prayer service at 6PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main St. (Rt. 18 opp. South Shore Hospital), Weymouth. 

At the request of her family, her burial will be private.
