Sheehan, Edith B. of Quincy, died February 14, 2015. Daughter of the late Edward W. and Edith S. (Carmody) Sheehan. Sister of Wilfred M. Sheehan of Duxbury and the late Adele I. Law and Edward W. Sheehan, Jr. Loving Aunt of Celeste Law and Tara Law both of ME, Christine McCarroll of Andover, Julianne Stevenson of Boston, Allexe Law-Flood of Wellesley, Amy Billings of NC, Jaymie R. Law of Boston, Carrie Dunne of Duxbury, Michael Sheehan of Kingston, Allison S. Pierson of NY, Carole Corriveau of Newport, RI., Courtney Witt of VA, Jennifer Voorhees of IL and Beth Ross of Duxbury. She is also survived by many great nieces and great nephews. Edith received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Boston College and furthered her education receiving her Masters Degree in Psychology form Yale University. She worked for many years in the Boston Public Schools as a testing administrator. An avid reader, she also enjoyed cribbage. A member of the Milton Senior Citizens Center, she enjoyed being social and valued the relationships she made over the years. Her travels took her to Europe as well as China and Alaska. She was civic minded and participated in town meetings, always interested in what was going on in her community. She will be remembered as a well educated woman who took pride in her independence and was always ready for the challenges of a new day. She will be dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, 757 Hancock Street, Quincy Saturday at 10 AM.
Burial will be private.
Donations in memory of Edith may be made to the Thomas Crane Public Library, 40 Washington, St. Quincy, MA 02169.
