Robertson, Eben P., Jr. “Buster” of Marion and Sarasota, FL, formerly of Quincy, February 15, 2009. Beloved husband of Valerie L. (Wall) Robertson of Marion, MA and Sarasota, FL. Loving father of Karen L. Robertson of Weymouth, Karla A. McCarron and her husband Peter of Quincy, Kyle E. Robertson of Quincy, Kim V. Hakkila and her husband Jeff of Plymouth and Kevin Robertson of Waltham. Brother of Phyllis & James Hoyt of Carver & Ft. Meyers, FL, Virginia & Al Norris of Fayettville, NC, Jean & the late Paul Lally of Quincy, Rosalyn & George Hartford of Falmouth and the late Barbara Hunter and Marjorie Nuggent. Adoring grandfather of Coleman and Ryley McCarron of Quincy. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and numerous close friends, whose friendship he cherished. Buster worked 38 years for Quincy Public Schools, retiring in 1996. He was an avid clam digger, with a longstanding reputation of being the “cleanest digger in the Neck”, consistently staking claim to “high man on the beach” honors. Mr. Robertson was a United States Navy Veteran. He graduated from Boston University and Nasson College, Sanford, ME, playing basketball for both schools. Mr. Robertson was a Life Member of Quincy Yacht Club, Past Commander of American Legion Post 380; and a 50 year Life Member; one of the originators of the Hough’s Neck Marathon, which still runs every April; originator of the American Legion Post 380 Drill Team, which won National Honors and Captain of the American Legion Post 380 Men’s Volleyball Team. Buster enjoyed playing in the Men’s Executive Hockey League at Quincy Youth Arena and Hough’s Neck Men’s Softball League. He enjoyed time on his boat, the “Moor Fun”, including lobstering, with his wife, children and grandchildren. Mr. Robertson also loved his vegatable gardens. He quietly and proudly supported the many activities of his children and grandchildren over the years. A lover of animals, he had several beloved pets throughout his life. Buster’s generous and giving nature will be sadly missed by his family. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Friday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Robertson may be made to National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave., Ste 2, Norwood, MA 02062.
