Mrs Dulce S. (Oliveira) Griffin, of Abington after a two year battle with cancer passed away on April 19, 2016 at the Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham.
Beloved granddaughter of the late Maria (Mama) Bala, beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Clarisse (Nana) Oliveira. Loving wife of 43 years to Attorney Paul J. Griffin of Abington. She was the cherished sister of the late Carlos Oliveira, Christy Campea of Abington, and Joseph Oliveira of Bridgewater. Sister-in-law of Alessandro Campea of Abington, Mary E. Doherty of Norwell, and her late husband, Daniel Doherty, Mark Griffin of Dennis, Attorney Christine Griffin-Berry and Phil Berry of Groton, James and Christine Griffin of Milton, Michael and Eileen Griffin (B.P.D.) of Dorchester. Auntie Dulce loved her nieces and nephews and had a special bond with each of them, Meaghan Groves of Plymouth, Griffin Doherty of Boston, Vanessa Campea of Columbus, Ohio, Marc Campea of Abington, Michelle Sheehan, Carly Rose Sheehan, Bella Sheehan, Sydney Sheehan all of Carver, Joshua Oliveira of Carver, Page Oliveira of Mansfield, Molly Griffin of Dorchester, and Thomas B. Griffin III, of Milton.
Dulce was a graduate of Boston Business School, Massasoit Community College and Suffolk University. She was initially employed in the corporate offices of Howard Johnson’s as a legal secretary. She will be sadly missed by her Howard Johnson girlfriends who met regularly over the years. Later she was employed for many years as part of the Human Resource Management team at the Norwell VNA. Aptly named, she will be remembered as sweet, beautiful, gentle, loving and kind to all. Dulce had an infectious smile coupled with a gentle personality that could light up any room; she had a lot of style. She cherished all of her many friendships. Dulce was a former member of the LeBaron Hills Country Club where she had many friends and loved the game of golf. She aced the difficult par 3, 11th hole at LeBaron Hills in June of 2011.
Dulce’s family strongly suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations in her name be made to the Pat Roche Hospice House, (Norwell VNA Hospice) 86 Turkey Hill Lane Hingham, MA 02043. Dulce’s family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful and compassionate care she received there.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Friday 8:30 – 10:30 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square), followed by her Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 11 AM.
