McCann, Dr. Paul C., MD died peacefully at home in Hull on February 4, 2011 at the age of 87. Born in South Boston, lived many years in Hull, formerly of Jamaica Plain. He was the youngest of 9 children, graduated from Boston College High School, Boston College and Boston University School of Medicine. A Surgeon for many years at Carney Hospital and a visiting Physician at St. Margaret’s Hospital. As an Army Veteran, Captain and Surgeon in World War II and the Korean War he was stationed in Battlecreek, Michigan for 2 years. Member of the American Medical Society, American College of Surgeons and Boston Surgical Society. Survived by his loving wife, Anne M. (Craig) McCann, 4 children, Susan McCann, Jean Kenney, Paul and his wife Melodie McCann all of Hull and Patrick McCann of Quincy, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Brother of Sister Marie McCann, CSJ of Framingham. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Monday February 7, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Tuesday February 8, 2011 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Samoset Ave. and Lewis St. Hull at 10 AM. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dr. McCann’s memory may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, Samoset Ave. & Lewis St. Hull, Massachusetts 02045.
