Dr. Daniel Colm Armstrong

ARMSTRONG, Dr. Daniel Colm 85, resident of Quincy, December 15, 2015, passed away peacefully at home with his family. Beloved husband of Kathleen B. Armstrong. Son of Francis and Sarah Armstrong of County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Brother of Kevin, Frank, Vincent, Mina, Kathleen and Ita. Loving father of Daniel, Patrick, Una, Colm, Mary and Catharina. Grandfather to Aidan, Gavin and Madeleine Armstrong; Sorcha Sullivan; Sarah and Colm Armstrong; Isabel Egan; Ella, Hugo, Cormac and Rory O’Halloran. Dr. Armstrong attended the Royal College of Surgeons In Ireland, graduating in 1955. He practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology in South Boston and Braintree for over 40 years. He was an attending physician at St. Margaret ‘s and South Shore Hospital and was known for his kindness and compassionate care of his patients. Dr. Armstrong was a proud member of the Committee for Justice in Northern Ireland. He loved swimming in South Boston, walking Castle Island and travelling to Ireland to visit family and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday December 18th from 4 to 8pm in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, South Weymouth, MA 02190.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, December 19th at Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock Street, North Quincy, MA 02171.

Burial will follow at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy, MA.
