Douglas J. MacIntyre Sr. of Rockland, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on September 6, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, he worked for many years and retired from Polaroid. Doug sang at local clubs as a single and in bands, and was best known for his Oldies shows featuring his Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison tributes. He also loved entertaining at nursing homes and assisted living facilities. He was an amazing man, always on the go, and loved to make people laugh. Doug was very proud of his Scottish heritage and loved his old Cadillacs.
He was the cherished soulmate of Marianne (Runci) MacIntyre. Son of the late Peter and Teresa MacIntyre. Loving father of Kathleen Oldham and her husband Joseph of Abington, Robert MacIntyre of Pembroke, Kevin Coleman and his wife Alexis of Weymouth, and the late Douglas MacIntyre Jr. Beloved brother to John MacIntyre of Delaware, Virginia Schoen and her husband Luke of New York, and William MacIntyre of Watertown. Doug was predeceased by his five siblings; Neil, Peter, Robert, Carol and Michael MacIntyre. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 3-7 P.M. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital), followed by his Funeral Service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Donations may also be made to Smile Train, 41 Madison Ave, 28th Floor Attn: Team Empower, New York, NY 10010.
