Douglas “Doug” Wilcox

Wilcox, Douglas M. of Hull, died December 7, 2017.

Beloved husband of 40 years to Carla Campbell of Hull.  Loving father of Briana McAuliffe and her husband Joseph of Hull and Alix Deegan and her husband CJ of East Bridgewater.  Devoted BePa of JD, Delaney, Carter, and Mackenzie.  Cherished son of the late Douglas and Carol Wilcox.  Caring nephew of Patricia Thatner of NY.  Also survived by many loving cousins and dear friends.

Doug worked in the book business as a publishing sales representative for many years.  He was a man who was able to make a friend wherever he went.  Doug was highly intelligent and had a love of history, politics, weather, and science.  He was very open minded and had a strong sense of Religion and was a Deacon at the First Trinitarian Congregational Church in Scituate.  Doug was a huge Jimmy Buffet fan and was passionate about collecting books and political and historical memorabilia.  His family was the center of his life and his proudest achievement; at the end of his life, his grandchildren were his greatest joy.  Doug will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday, 12/19 at 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, 12/20 at 10 AM in First Trinitarian Congregational Church, Scituate.
