Douglas “Doug” Towle

Douglas “Doug” Towle, 73, of Barrington, Illinois, formerly of Bolton, Massachusetts, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016.

Devoted husband of Nancy for 48 years; loving father of Doug Jr (Robin) of Cooper City, Florida, Amy (Wayne) Godin of Northbridge, Massachusetts, and Allison (John) Herlihy of Hopkinton, Massachusetts; proud grandfather of Samantha, Sydney, Matthew, Jack, Katie and Ryan; dear brother of Detra Towle, Doretha (Ed) Gurry, Deborah (Noel) DesChamps, Rita Mohr, Dayle (Geoff) Nash, Richard (Barbara) Towle, Tom (Jayne) Towle and Steve (Marianne) Towle. He was preceeded in death by his parents Richard and Dorothy.

Doug proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1965 and served with the U.S. Navy Presidential Honor Guard. His favorite pastimes were golf and designing custom motorcycles. He was a passionate New England Patriots fan and never missed a game. He loved to travel with his beloved wife Nancy and spending time with his family.

Visiting hours will be from 2 – 6 PM at Pyne-Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham, Massachusetts on Sunday, October 16. Funeral Mass in St Paul’s Church, 147 North Street, Hingham Monday, October 17 at 10:00 AM. Doug will be laid to rest at St. Paul’s cemetery Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The New England Patriots Charitable Foundation.
