Dorothy W. Dolan

Dolan, Dorothy W. (Wheaton) “Betty” of Quincy, died August 4, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. 

Betty grew up in Saugus and was a graduate of North Quincy High School. She ran Atlantic Variety Store with her mother for many years and then went on to work for Niles Insurance in Braintree and Hurley Insurance in Quincy. She loved spending time in New Hampshire on her tree farm with her dog Freedom. She will be remembered as a feisty, strong woman who knew what she wanted and who loved her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. 

Beloved wife to the late James L. “Buddy’ Dolan, Loving mother of George DuGuay and his wife Sonia Ensins of Waltham and Patricia Dolan Schmitz and her husband Thomas of Framingham. Devoted grandmother of Christina B. Schmitz. Sister in law of Nancy Cambria of Norwell, Aunt of James Baldwin, and Judy Petraske. Also survived by many cousins, grand nieces, and nephews. 

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
