Dorothy T. (Maglio) Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald, Dorothy T. (Maglio) “Dolly” of Squantum, MA passed away at the age of 89 on February 1, 2014. 

Dolly’s main passion was her family and spending time with those she loved. She was married to the late John P. Fitzgerald, the love of her life and husband of seventy years.  When Dolly was younger, she enjoyed cooking big Italian meals for her family every Sunday. For many years, Dolly and her husband traveled and spent many winters in Ft. Myers, Florida.  She was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed singing her favorite hymns in mass. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Devoted mother of Catherine Palmer and her husband Edward of Weymouth and John R. Fitzgerald and his wife Kathleen of Rockport. Cherished grandmother (Nana) of Edward Palmer, Dolly Hardy, Jayne Nistad, Jillian Fitzgerald, Jonathan Fitzgerald, and Jennifer LaFountain.  Great grandmother (Mimi) of Tom Palmer, Joe Palmer, Matt Neville, John Hardy, Patrick Hardy, Lila Hardy, Charlie Nistad, Penelope Fitzgerald, Isabel and Abi LaFountain.  Great great grandmother of Luke Palmer.  Caring sister of the late Ralph Maglio and Marilyn Ferrario.  Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 11 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
