Dorothy M. (Barrett) Reardon, of Weymouth, formerly of South Boston, died peacefully at the William B. Rice Eventide Home in Quincy on Saturday, September 14, 2013. She would have been 96 on September 29 being born before her beloved Red Sox won the 1918 World Series and living long enough to see them win in 2004 and 2007. 

Dot was the devoted wife of the late Edmund G. Reardon, the loving mother of Dorothy DiMestico and her husband Ray of Middleboro, Lorraine Smith and her husband David of Norwell and Maureen Pellegrini of Norton, the sister of the late Rita O’Connor and Edward “Buddy” Barrett, the cherished “Nana” to eight grandchildren and “Great Nana” to five great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rt. 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. 

Donations in Dot’s memory may be made to National Fallen Firefighters Foundation 16825 South Seton Avenue, Bldg. O, Emmitsburg, MD 21727 or www.firehero.org.
