Dorothy M. (Doyle) Orlando of Quincy, died January 4, 2016. The beloved wife of 68 years to Jasper Orlando. Loving mother of Thomas Orlando and his wife Peg of Quincy, Joseph Orlando and his wife Laura of Franklin, John Orlando and his wife Mary of Quincy, Stephen Orlando and his wife Janice and Marianne Willett and her husband Stephen all of Hanover. Sister of Mary Connolly of Braintree and her late husband Edward and the late Theresa Milroy and her late husband James. Dorothy is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy grew up in Roxbury and was a proud graduate of St. Patrick’s High School. She lived in Medford before moving to Quincy where she raised her family. Dorothy worked at Capitol Market on Hancock Street in Quincy and later worked for BFDS at State Street South. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and was always up to the challenge of a puzzle. She always enjoyed walking Wollaston Beach. Dorothy was a member at the Quincy YMCA as well as the Wollaston Mother’s Club. As a devout catholic, she supported St. Patrick’s and St. Ann’s Churches. She along with her beloved husband Jasper enjoyed many years up in Gunstock, NH, where they created many fond memories. The foundation of her life was her family, they were the cornerstone of all that was truly important to her. They are grateful for all the blessing she brought into their lives. She will be sadly missed.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
