Dorothy M. Grief

Grief, Dorothy M. (Shanahan) of Hingham, died September 24, 2018.

Beloved wife of 67 years to Donald J. Grief of Hingham.  Loving mother of Stephen Grief and his wife Diane of Scituate, Alyson Silvia and her husband Robert of Cohasset and Joanna McGowan and her husband Charles of Scituate. Devoted Grandma of Kimberly, Kerri, Charlie, Matthew and Robert.  Cherished Great Grandma of Sydney, Tessa, Mila and Ryley.  Caring sister of the late Eileen McMahon and Marie Hurley.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy’s family was the center of her life and caring for her home was her pride and joy.  She enjoyed nature and found the beauty in everything she encountered.  Dorothy was always dressed to the nine and presented herself in a classy and dignified manner.  Dorothy will be remembered for her loving and devoted personality.  She will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to the Resident Activity Fund at Harbor House, 11 Condito Road, Hingham MA 02043.
