Dorothy J. “Dolly” Heffernan

Heffernan, Dorothy J. (Glynn) “Dolly” of Abington, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024. Dolly was born in Boston to the late John and Margaret Glynn. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and earned her dental assistant certification from Massasoit. Dolly was involved with the St. Francis Xavier Drum & Bugle Corps in Weymouth for over 20 years. 

Beloved wife of the late William R. Heffernan. Loving mother of William T. Heffernan and his wife Linda of Stoughton, Leo J. Heffernan and his fiancé Patricia Dirksmeier and the late Marybeth Reynolds. Dear sister of the late Robert and John “Jack” Glynn. Cherished Nana of Andrew, James, Patrick, Lindsey, Connor, Peter, Jacquelynne and Gigi of Noah, Lily and Stella. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM.
