Dorothy Wildish Heger, known as “DeeJay”, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother passed away on June 30, 2024 in Hingham MA. She was born in Portland, Oregon, on December 18th, 1942, the second daughter of Clara and Thomas Wildish.
DeeJay's life journey began in the scenic city of Portland, Oregon, she traveled to San Francisco and Seattle and then to Glen Ellyn, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago where she spent her formative years and graduated from Glenbard West High School in 1960.
DeeJay’s educational path led her to Washington University in St Louis, MO where DeeJay went to college, earning a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, William Shipway Heger, whom she married. Their union was a source of strength and support for each other until William's passing in 1984. With a passion for creativity and artistry, DeeJay pursued a successful career in fashion design that spanned over three decades in New York. Her work not only showcased her talent but also took her on adventures around the globe, allowing her to immerse herself in different cultures and experiences.
Apart from her professional accomplishments, DeeJay cherished family above all else. She delighted in creating lasting memories with her loved ones during numerous vacations to Cancun and Palm Springs and many summers in Eugene, Oregon with her sister, Pam Bosworth, and many family members and friends.
Her positive outlook on life shone brightly even during the toughest times as she valiantly battled cancer for 18 years with unwavering optimism and resilience. Her mottos were "never give up" and "small victories"
Dorothy Wildish Heger is survived by her loving son Todd Wildish Heger, devoted daughter-in-law Julie Heger, and adoring granddaughter Scout Heger.
DeeJay is also survived by her cherished sister Pam Bosworth, and many friends, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews whose lives she touched with warmth and affection.
