Dow, Dorothy B. (Horgan) of Quincy, formally of South Boston passed away December 29, 2012. Beloved wife of the late John J. Dow, Jr. Loving mother of John J. Dow, III and his wife Denise of Quincy, Rosemary Dahlstedt and her husband Jack of Medford, Trudy Boc and her husband Larry of Duxbury, Marjorie Dow and her wife Donna Walden of Greenfield, Thomas Dow and his wife, Lori, and Cynthia Flynn all of Squantum. Sister of Gerard Horgan and his wife Patricia of Dedham, Claire Riley and her late husband William of Brookline, Sr. Jeremy Horgan, SSJ of Manomet, and the late Mary Dembowski, Joseph, John, Daniel, Francis, and Paul Horgan. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a bookkeeper for many years at Drew Electric and was also very active for Quincy Council on Aging In her spare time she enjoyed going to Foxwoods, Atlantic City, playing cards, Bingo, bowling and loved writing poems. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family and will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her. She was a graduate of Gate of Heaven High School, and Burdett Business School. Her family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers and extended family at Hancock Park. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 2-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 9:15 AM prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. Donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to Hancock Park Activities Department, 4 West, 164 Parking Way, Quincy, MA 02169.
