Dorothy A. Smith

Smith, Dorothy A. (Finneran) of Hingham, died May 29, 2018.

Beloved wife of 51 years to Ronald Smith of Hingham.  Loving mother of Ron Smith and his wife Kerry of Weymouth, Melissa Smith and her husband Nathan Rasmussen of Hingham, Tracy Smith of Florida and Tara Dusthimer and her husband Michael of Rockland.  Devoted Grammy of Maggie, Ronnie, Patrick, Mckenna, Georgia, Jillian, Emma, Abby and Charlie.  Caring sister of Buddy Finneran and his wife Ginny, June St. Croix, Joey Finneran, Bobby Finneran, Michael Finneran and his wife Laraine and the late John Finneran, Janet Bennett and George Finneran.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy grew up in Hull before meeting the love of her life and moving to Hingham.  She and Ron were not only partners in life but also in business.  Dorothy and Ron opened and operated R.D. Corporation, a manufactured homes company based out of Hingham.   She enjoyed gardening, dancing, playing the lottery and many trips to Las Vegas and Mohegan Sun.  Dorothy’s main passion in life and center of her universe was her family.  She would go above and beyond and was always there whenever needed.  Dorothy will be remembered for her caring, loving and supportive personality.  She will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in High Street Cemetery, Hingham.
