Dorothea E. Mortimer

Mortimer, Dorothea E. (Guariglia/Duck) of Bourne, formerly of Braintree, passed away February 14, 2013.

Dorothea was the president of the Winstal Company, Inc in Braintree for over 50 years with her husband. In her early years she worked as a key punch operator for Honeywell, a retail associate for Jordan Marsh and a teacher’s aide in Braintree. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crafts, baking, bird watching and traveling with family and friends. She could often be found sitting alongside the Cape Cod Canal where she liked to watch the boats pass by. She will be sadly missed. 

Beloved wife of 63 years to William J. “Bill” Mortimer of Bourne. Devoted mother of William J. Mortimer, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Brockton, Craig Mortimer and his wife Janette of Braintree, Regina DeLuca of Hawaii and Nancy Conway of Bourne. Cherished “Gramma” of 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hosp.)  Funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:30 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Dorothea may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or the Make A Wish Foundation, 1 Bulfinch Pl #201, Boston, MA 02114.
