Doris A. Nickerson

Doris A. Nickerson, longtime resident of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, at the age of 96. She was born on October 21, 1928, to the late Leo and Velma Mannett.

Doris was the beloved wife of the late Charles S. Nickerson, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and memories. She was the loving mother of Gail Handrahan and her husband, Michael, of Gilford, New Hampshire, who will forever cherish her nurturing presence. Doris was predeceased by her brother, Royal Mannett, and leaves behind a legacy through her 4 grandchildren; Sean, Greg, Kristy and Caitlyn, as well as four great-granddaughters, who were the light of her life.

A homemaker, Doris's home of over 70 years was a testament to her dedication and care. Doris's zest for life was evident in her love for line dancing, a passion she pursued with grace and enthusiasm at The Whipple Center. She also enjoyed sharing laughter and stories with her Gabby Group every Wednesday afternoons at the Whipple Center. An ardent Patriots fan, Doris's loyalty to the team was unwavering, and her admiration for Tom Brady was well-known among her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 4/28/2025 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square). A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday 4/29/2025 at 10 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea St. (off Rt. 3A-Bicknell Sq.), Weymouth. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to South Shore Hospital or to The Whipple Center in loving memory of Doris.
