Stack, Doris M. A long time Quincy resident passed away Saturday September 17, 2011 after a lengthy illness. She was eighty eight years old. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Stack of Quincy, she was the loving mother of Brian Stack and his wife Margaret of Hingham, Paul Stack and his wife Catherine of Norwell, Robert Stack and his wife Marilyn of Braintree, Gary Stack and his wife Loretta of Waltham, Gail Pierce of Hingham and Janine Gray and her husband William of Cary, NC. Doris is also lovingly survived by her 18 grandchildren. Doris was born in Quincy on April 18, 1923. She was the only child of James J. McGinty and Mary (Wall) McGinty. Doris graduated from the North Quincy High School and received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from Duchesne College in Omaha, Nebraska. Doris worked as a Registered Medical Technologist at the Massachusetts Memorial Hospital in Boston, where she met her husband of more than 56 years, Tom. She was a loving and dedicated mother to her children who were the true essence of her life. She cherished her time with each of them. Doris spent countless hours at the sporting, musical and educational events of her six children. In addition to being an active fan of her children’s sports teams, Doris was a huge Red Sox fan and alongside her husband Tom, enjoyed watching them play each season. Doris played the piano and entertained her children and grandchildren with her renditions of old classics and show tunes. She instilled in her children a love for music and provided for each of them the opportunity to learn a musical instrument. Doris was a devout Catholic. She was raised in Sacred Heart Parish, Quincy and remained devoted to the Church throughout her life. She imparted her deep faith to her children. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
