Doris M. (Guiney) Leonard

Doris M. (Guiney) Leonard, 87, of Weymouth died peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 10^th, 2023.

Originally born and raised in Dorchester, Doris lived in Weymouth for many years. She was a Teacher’s Aide for over 30 years working both at the Alice E. Fulton and Ralph Talbot Schools. Doris enjoyed shopping, all sorts of sweets, car rides to anywhere, and playing cards. An avid Red Sox fan, she always enjoyed watching and following the local team and her favorite player, Big Papi. But her real pride and joy was her family, most especially her grandchildren, who she loved spending time with, particularly on special occasions. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Daughter of the late Thomas J. and Mary Belle (Cameron) Guiney.

Beloved wife of the late Paul F. Leonard, Sr.

Loving mother of Mary Butler and her husband Mark, of Whitman, Paul Leonard and his fiancé, Kathi Cowe of Taunton, Tom Leonard and his wife, Kathy, of Weymouth, and Ken Leonard and his wife, Sue, of Weymouth. Cherished grandmother to Rebecca, Michael, Cameron, Emily, Meghan, and the late Mark. Sister of the late Thomas Guiney, John Guiney, Florence Dolan, Francis Guiney, Louise Lennon, William Guiney, Theresa Coleman, Edward Guiney, Leo Guiney, Madeline Scully, Robert Guiney, and Paul Guiney. Also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday March 16^th from 4-7 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home South Weymouth at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday March 17^th prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
