Doris L. Tansey

Doris L. Tansey–89, A former resident of Weymouth passed to heaven on Sunday, August 14, 2016. 

Doris was the beloved wife of William A. Tansey and the loving mother of William J. Tansey and his wife Gemma of Long Beach NY, Marilyn J. Maginniss and her husband Matthew of Herndon VA, and Gregory J. Tansey and his wife Nancy of Rockland MA. Doris was also the cherished “Gigi” of 5 grandchildren, Christopher and Caitlyn Maginniss, and Lydia, Madalynn, and Benjamin Tansey. 

Doris graduated from Somerville High School in 1944 and met her future husband at a General Electric Christmas Party that same year.  Doris and Bill were married in 1947 and were devoted to each other for 69 years.  They settled in Weymouth, but loved spending summers at their home in Yarmouth MA.  Doris had many interests, but her greatest joy was her family.  She leaves a legacy of love with her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and grand-nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
