MacKenzie, Doris J. (Michaelson) of Quincy, unexpectedly on December 6, 2002. Beloved wife of the late Donald G. MacKenzie. Loving mother of Donna MacKenzie and her longtime companion Pam Maddux of Spring TX, Karen and her husband Charles Michener and their daughters Anna & Lauren of Mansfield and Gail MacKenzie and her son Gary of Quincy. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation on Tuesday in the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON from 4-8pm followed by a funeral service, celebrating her life beginning at 8pm. Cremation will follow. Doris Jane (Michaelson) MacKenzie died Friday unexpectedly at her home in Quincy, she was 72. A graduate of Quincy High School, she was also past member of the Quincy Art Assoc. She was the founder and coach of the Girls Softball Team, “The Hough’s Neck Honeybee’s” were she was coached by Mary Pratt. A longtime fan of the Boston Red Sox. Doris was a 30 year employee of Stop & Shop, retiring back in April of 1992. She was a published writer, writing the book “A CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS STORY”. She also volunteered as a guide for the lighthouse in Marina Bay, Quincy. More recently she had begun volunteering her time at Milton Hospital. She leaves behind a legacy for the love of life and laughter. It was her wish to have donations in her memory made to the Home For Little Wanders, 161 South Huntington Ave., Jamacia Plain 02130.
