Donna Marie, Bunnell, 75 of Wareham and formerly of Brockton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 27, 2023, after a short illness.
Donna was preceded in death by her mother and father, Helen (McGrath) Trottier and Bernard Trottier. She was the dear sister of the late Edwin Sprague (Mary), Kenneth Stoughton (Rita), Alma (Trottier) Ricciardelli (Anthony), Beverly (Trottier) Simmons (Jim), and Chesbrook Stoughton. She is survived by her brother Alan Trottier of Randolph and brother Stephen Trottier of New Hampshire.
Donna was the cherished wife of George Bunnell of Wareham, loving mother of David McEwen and his companion Karen Batting of New Hampshire, Laurie Chaskes of Abington, Karlee Goffrier and her husband Bill of Kansas, Tara Bunnell of Abington, the late Stephen “Michael” Bunnell and the late Tammy Bunnell.
She was the loving grandmother to Michael Dean, Samantha Jordan, Skyla Bunnell, Brendon Bunnell, Joshua Chaskes, Benjamin Chaskes, Giavanna Bunnell, and great-grandmother of Lily Noddin and Thomas Dean.
Donna appreciated many simple joys in life and often continued the traditions of her youth such as hosting Sunday dinners for her family and friends. She especially loved preparing for Christmas, decorating, and baking cookies with her children and grandchildren. Donna worked very hard to raise her six children and took great pride in all of their successes. Often shy by nature, Donna loved being the center of attention within her immediate family. She found great meaning in exchanging gifts and cards. In her spare time, Donna was an avid reader, and enjoyed listening to music, attending concerts, bird watching, and following the Boston Bruins and Red Sox. Donna loved animals and loved being around family pets. She dearly loved her sweet parakeet, Willy, who was great company to her in the last few years. Of all of the roles she held in her life, she especially enjoyed being a grandmother and great-grandmother.
