Brosnan, Donald S. of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, died June 12, 2014.
Beloved husband of Eleanor (Farrell) Brosnan of Quincy. Loving father of Thomas G. Brosnan of Somerville, Jean Gambino of E. Bridgewater and her late husband Joseph Gambino, Patricia Morrison and her husband Scott of Marshfield and Joseph Brosnan and his wife Deanna of Marshfield. Brother of the late John Brosnsan, Margaret Mattina, Elizabeth Harvey, Helen Pierce and Eileen Farrell. Cherished grandfather of Craig, Dennis, Adam, Kevin, Justin, Derek and Mikey.
Don was born and raised in Dorchester. He was veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII. He was employed at Swift & Company as a meat cutter for many years. He also worked for the City of Quincy for 40 years retiring form the Highway Department. Don was a handy man around the house and loved decorating for Christmas which was his favorite holiday. He enjoyed the Red Sox and was an avid reader. He was an active parishioner and usher at St. John’s Church in Quincy. Most of all Don loved his family who were the cornerstone of his life. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
