Donald R. Kusser Sr.

KUSSER, Donald  R., Sr. 68, lifelong resident of Quincy, died Friday June 8, 2018 surrounded by his family.  

Son of the late Edward and Mildred (Tobin) Kusser.  Beloved husband of Christine (Lemay) Kusser.  Devoted father of Kristen Salvo and her husband Mike of Windham NH, and Donald  R. Kusser Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Mission Viejo CA.  Loving grandfather of Robert  Thornton Jr., Meghan Straw, and Abigail Kusser.  Great-grandfather of Alexander and Victoria Escobar, and Colton Straw.  Brother of Geraldine Kelley of Kileen TX, Edward Kusser (Ret. Lt. Quincy PD) and his wife Susan of Kingston, and Janet Kusser of Pflugerville TX.  Uncle of Adam  Kusser, ARMY Capt. currently serving in Kuwait, Brandan Kusser of Kingston, and Amy Kelley of TX.

Mr. Kusser was a 1968 graduate of North Quincy High School, and went on to serve in the United States Air Force.  He worked for 30 years for the City of Quincy as a Maintenance Engineer.  He was a member of the G.A.R., SAR, I.O.O.F., NRA, and was Vice President of the Braintree Rifle and Pistol Club.  He enjoyed competition shooting, and was an avid American history and Civil War buff.  His hero was Benjamin Franklin.  Donald was the star of his own show on Quincy TV, The Constitution: Then and Now.       

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday June 12 from 4 – 8 in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday  at 11 o’clock in the funeral home. Interment will be private.  

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Donald’s memory to the G.A.R., with checks made payable to the Hartsuff Memorial Association, 34 School St.  Rockland, MA 02370.
