Donald R. Gamble, Jr.

Donald R. Gamble, Jr, of Carver died on December 10, 2020 after a courageous battle against cancer, he was 55.  Don was born in Boston and lived in Quincy – Hough’s Neck and Adams Shore area’s before residing in Carver. He attended Quincy’s Schools, graduating with honors from Quincy High School. Furthering his education Don attended Carnegie Mellon where he received his Bachelor’s degree in chemistry and his Masters degree from Clarkson University in New York. He was working toward his doctorate degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute – R.P.I in New York before moving back to Quincy.  Don had many career paths from teaching to writing, he worked construction, plumbing, carpentry and  woodworking he was an all round handy man. 

Don is survived by the love of his life Dottie Gamble. He also leaves his parents Ruth and Don Gamble of Hough’s Neck, as well as his brothers Robert and his wife Patti of Holbrook, Steven and his partner Vicky Hicks of  Quincy, his sister Michelle and her partner Justin Curran of Brockton. His daughter Jennifer and her husband C.J. McConvey of Bridgewater. He is survived by his niece Tina Hicks, Esq. of Somerville.  Don is the cherished Grampy to Jackson and Mackenzie McConvey and Avery Bentley of Texas. Don is also survived by his aunts, uncles and many cousins. He had a special place in his heart for his dog Champy.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Don may be made to Hough’s Neck Congregational Church, 310 Manet Avenue, Quincy, MA 02169.
