Donald M. Saltmarsh

Saltmarsh, Donald M. of E. Bridgewater, passed away March 3, 2022. Donald was born in Dorchester to the late Rita and William Saltmarsh. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who discovered his career skill of pipefitting while serving in the military. Donald worked for many years as an owner-operator at D&S Heating, where he took great pride in teaching his young boys to work with their hands, as well as their heads. He was always a loving father to his three sons who meant the world to him. Whether it was shooting pool, a day swimming at the Quincy quarries or fixing a car in the driveway, these were the best moments of his life – time well spent with his boys, while teaching them important life skills. Donald enjoyed watching football and baseball games, attending backyard barbecues, and winning that $450 on Keno, but most importantly, he treasured time spent with his family. He will be forever loved and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

Loving father of John Saltmarsh and his wife Farrah Saltmarsh of E. Bridgewater, Cory Saltmarsh of Scituate and Chad Saltmarsh of Scituate. Cherished Grandpa of Donald, Angelina and Jack and Great Grandpa of Michael and Kayce. Dear brother of William and Doris. Former husband of Janlen (Gingras) Saltmarsh. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 7 PM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Lung Association.
