McNamara, Donald J. of Quincy July 16, 2002. Husband of the late Aldona (Mockus) McNamara. Loving father of Donald & his wife Paula of Quincy, Paul & his wife Donna of Peabody, John & his wife Cathy of Underhill, VT and Kathy McNamara of Quincy. Loving grandfather of Clinton Mann, Casey, Audrey, Shamus and Allison McNamara. Brother of Robert McNamara of Dorchester, Ann Healey of Scituate and the late William McNamara. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON Saturday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10 AM. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Mr. McNamara graduated from Boston Technical High School in 1951 where he played football and was a member of the color guard. He served in Korea as a Staff Sgt. in the United States Marine Corps, 1st Air Wing during the Korean Conflict. A past president of the North Quincy High School Football Boosters Club and a long time member of the McKeon Post in Dorchester, Mr. McNamara also was very active in the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, Troop 19 and Pack 14. He also was a member of the Boy Scout Fund Raising Committee. After retiring from his job at NYNEX (New England Telephone) as an outside repair supervisor, he continued to work as a consultant in the telephone industry.Donations in memory of Mr. McNamara may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 1309 Beacon St., Brookline, MA 02446-9918.
