Donald J. Latulippe of Randolph, died June 25, 2013 at the age of 82. In his seventy years as a broadcaster, Don has done everything and he’s done it all well – as record librarian, board operator, music announcer, sports producer, newscaster, interviewer, public affairs director, news director, and television host. Don Latulippe made his first radio appearance on April 10, 1937 on the Laco Shampoo Hour on WHDH Radio in Boston. Ten years later he was given an after-school job by Jim Asher at WJDA in Quincy as a board operator and record librarian. Later he became the morning man on WEZE, then operating in the window of the Statler Office Building in Boston as “The Wonderful World of Music.” In 1978 Don became the Public Affairs Director and later News Director of WROR-FM. He also booth announced for WGBH-TV and WNAC-TV and one night did them both. He also produced some of the Red Sox games from WPLM Radio Sports Network in Plymouth. Latulippe was also a singer and pianist and once had the honor of accompanying Luciano Pavarotti in Boston. Don continued in radio and cable TV on a part time basis since his full time retirement in 1995 and was inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2009. In addition to his accomplished career, Don was a world traveler, devoted family man and great friend. The highlights of his life included taking grandchild Paul to Israel, climbing the pyramids in Egypt, white water rafting in New Zealand, visiting Rome ,Madrid, London, Taiwan, Japan, and being in a Chariot Race at Suffolk downs and winning and finally being there to see his grandson Dustin Graduate.

Beloved husband of the late Shirley M. (Rothfuse) Latulippe. Devoted father of Robert L. Latulippe and his wife Karyn of Beverly, the late Dale L. Latulippe and his wife Ria of Carver and the late Donna M. Orsino. Loving brother of Joseph P. Latulippe of SC and the late Luke G. Latulippe. Cherished “Nami” of Paul, Jeffrey, Sheri, Christopher, Dustin and 3 great-grandchildren. Dear friend of Matt Wall of Randolph and the late Joseph Perotti.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Saturday at 10 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Don may be made to Catholic TV, PO Box 9196, Watertown, MA 02471.
