Donald H. Blanchard

Donald H. Blanchard of North Weymouth, died January 26, 2016. Donald proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and then went on to work for Boston Gear Works as a mechanical engineer for over 20 years. In 1952 he built the home that he lived in until this day and was a great source of pride for his family. He loved the ocean, walking to the sea wall near his home and sailing his boat Bambi. He also enjoyed square dancing with his wife of 64 years. His family was the foundation of all that was important to him. He will be remembered for his kindness and appreciation for life.  

Beloved husband of Beatrice (McCarthy) Blanchard of North Weymouth. Devoted father of Karen Harrington and her husband Paul of Lynnfield, Diane DeCristofaro and her husband Ted of Plymouth and Lynn Blanchard-Caesar and her husband Richard of ME. Loving brother of Muriel Holden of NH, Marjorie Killian of Weymouth, Helen Smith of Hingham and the late Norman Blanchard. Cherished Papa of Stephanie, Shaylyn, Emily, Kerstin, Benjamin, Laina and great-granddaughter Riley.   

Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM in Pilgrim Congregational Church, 24 Athens Street, North Weymouth.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Donald may be made to Pilgrim Congregational Church, 24 Athens Street, Weymouth, MA 02191.
