Donald G. Nelson

Nelson, Donald G. of Weymouth, passed away May 16, 2022. Donald was born in Quincy to the late Gordon and Vera Nelson. He was a graduate of North Quincy High School and attended Northeastern University. Donald worked for many years as an Engineer for B.C. Ames. He enjoyed traveling, classic cars and gardening. His efforts for improving the appearance of an island located in front of his home, which he spent many hours planting and watering the flowers, as well as, maintaining the grass, were recognized by the Town of Weymouth. Donald had also been a Deacon at the Union Congregational Church.

Beloved husband of 52 years to the late Marsha Dawn Nelson (Pawlik). Devoted father of Dawn Elizabeth Mota and her husband Luis and Douglas Gordon Nelson and his wife Karina. Cherished grandfather of Valentina Shevelle Nelson. Brother of Paul Nelson and the late Elaine MacKay and Beverly Whalen. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A funeral service will be celebrated in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, Wednesday at 10:30 AM. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
