Donald F. Desmond

DESMOND, Donald F. lifelong resident of Hull, at home, early Sunday morning, May 13, 2018. 

Born in South Weymouth, he was the son of the late Donald J. Desmond, and Barbara E. (Brown) and James Ketchum.  Beloved husband of 55 years of Gail (Trapp).  Devoted father of Denise  Marshall and her husband Timothy, Nancy Fleck and her husband Richard, and Donald Desmond and his wife Jennifer, all of Hull.  Loving grandfather of Tim and Haley Marshall, Ashley and Richie Fleck, and Grayson and Avery Desmond.  Brother of Barbara Currul and her longtime companion Claude of GA.  Also survived by one niece and two nephews. 

Mr. Desmond was a 1960 graduate of Hull High School, and went on to serve his country in the Army National Guard.  He worked for 42 years for the New England Telephone Company, and later on Verizon, as a lineman, retiring several years ago.  Donald enjoyed taking care of his yard, as well as those of his neighbors, home improvements, and especially going to the beach with his grandchildren, and attending their sporting events. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday May 16, from 5-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. Family and friends will gather in the funeral home beginning at 9:00 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery, Hull.
