Donald E. Walden, Sr.

Donald E. Walden, Sr. of Weymouth, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on September 9, 2022 at the age of 74.

Son of the late James and Mary (Brown) Walden, he was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Don was the beloved husband of 53 years to Diane (Edwards) Walden. Loving father of Keith Walden and his wife Christine of Tewksbury; Donald E. Walden, Jr. and his partner Meaghan Sullivan of Abington; Tanya DeSimone and her partner Michael Pompeo of Plymouth; and Sean Walden and his partner Kristin Smith of Noblesville, IN. He was the proud and cherished “Papa” to eight grandchildren who were the loves of his life, Jayson, Brady, Vanessa, Sophia, Aidan, Connor, Delaney, and Sean.  Also survived by his three brothers, James Walden and his wife Deb of Scituate; Richard Walden and his wife Janet of Scituate and  John Walden and his late wife Mary Jo of Hingham. Also survived by many brother and sister in laws along with many nieces and nephew and cherished friends.

Don proudly served in the US Army as a heavy equipment operator during his tour in Vietnam.  He was employed by Armstrong World Industries in Braintree for many years,and later worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service.  Don enjoyed golfing,fishing, bowling and puttering around in his yard.  He relished his time in Sarasota with his brother where he spent endless hours fishing and sitting by the pool with his many Florida friends.  He looked forward to his golf trips with his brothers, sons and friends. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife Diane.  European River cruises were among his favorite.  Many happy family memories were also made in their Lincoln, NH condo.

Services are private.
