Donald E. Baltucci (Don), 83, of Hingham passed away peacefully on November 16, 2016 at home with his family by his side.  

Don, son of the late Domenico and Gladys (Washburn)  Baltucci;  brother of the late Gladys Martin and Barbara Nix; beloved husband to his wife of 59 years, Carole (Williams) of Hingham; devoted father to Linda Natale and her husband Tom of Hanover, Jacqueline MacBean and her husband Robert of Hingham, Cindy Kraus and her husband Ron of Hingham; loving grandfather to Chris and his wife Morgan, Mike, Brittany and her husband Trevor, Jen and her husband Brian, Vinny, Nick and Ben and a wonderful uncle to many nieces and nephews. Don also leaves behind his many business associates and a wealth of friends who were such an important part of his life.

Don was a lifetime resident of Hingham and is an alumnus of the Hingham High School class of 1952, Bentley College, and the Savings and Loan Institute. Don was a proud veteran having served in the United States Marine Corp. He was active in many community organizations. He was past treasurer of the South Shore Camp Fire Girls, a director of the Hingham Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Sons of Italy and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, the Weymouth Rotary and was a member of the retirement board for Cooperative Central Bank.

Don’s professional career was spent in the banking industry, as president, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Weymouth Co Operative Bank (Weymouth Bank). He also worked in his earlier years as a bus driver for Hudson Bus Lines, an Auxiliary Policeman for the Town of Hingham, as well as in the insurance and real estate businesses.

Don was an avid golf enthusiast. His love of the game started as a teenage caddy at the Cohasset Golf Club. He eventually became a lifelong member, capturing the club championship in 1994 and 2004. Don could be seen attending many of his grandchildren’s sporting events in all the local hockey rinks and ball fields. Don’s favorite pastime was to spend time with his family. His home was filled with good times, laughter, and love for all.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Don’s memory to the Pat Roche Hospice Home, 86 Turkey Hill Lane, Hingham, MA 02043 or to Norwell Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061 (www.nvna.org).
