Donald C. Mason

Mason, Donald C. of Abington, passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 6, 2018.

Don was the son of the late Leon and Julia O’Leary Mason of Boston. Don was a mechanic for 15 years for the U.S. Postal Service. He was very proud of his military service from 1952-1973 with the United States Army as a 1st Sergeant, paratrooper and Jump Master as well as being a Vietnam Vet.

Beloved husband of  60 years of Virginia A. “Jenna” Mason. Loving father of Donald C. Mason, Jr of Abington, Kevin P. Mason and his companion, Eileen O’Neil of Brockton, Donna J. Sloan and her husband, Dan, of Abington, and Beth Hoefer of Pembroke. Former father in law of Jennifer Mason of Ashland, and Cyndi Billings of Avon. Brother of Gerard Mason of Dedham and the late Leon Mason, IV, John Mason, and Thomas Mason. Brother in law of Anne Mason, Arlene O’Toole, Jean Hill, Frances and Joe Leary, Richard and Karen Burke, James and Marie Burke, and Eileen Mason. Grandfather of Sandra, Kimberli, Joshua, Matthew, Shannon, Mason, Jacquelyn, Zachary, Erica, and Anna. Great grandfather of Bianca, Brielle, and Abel.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home South Weymouth at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Bridget’s Church, Abington at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
